Senior Engineering Manager, Platform Engineering (Remote)
ezCater is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Platform Engineering team, which is responsible for the foundational infrastructure that supports all engineering teams within the organization. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining the core platform tooling, developer experience, and platform infrastructure, ensuring that domain teams can focus on their specific areas without being encumbered by underlying infrastructure concerns. As a remote position, it offers flexibility while contributing to the company's mission of streamlining food solutions for workplaces across the United States.
The Senior Engineering Manager will oversee the delivery of developer experience enhancements, core platform tools such as shared libraries and event streaming clients, and platform infrastructure including compute clusters and observability systems. Key responsibilities include managing the day-to-day operations of the platform teams, hiring and developing engineering talent, and coordinating cross-team priorities to ensure seamless integration and support for domain teams building on the platform.
Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in engineering management or technical team leadership roles. A strong technical foundation in building and operating distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, or platform tooling is essential. Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes/EKS, infrastructure-as-code practices, and establishing engineering standards for CI/CD pipelines and observability is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset are also critical for success in this role.
The compensation for this position ranges from $218,000 to $280,000 annually, reflecting the level of expertise and leadership required.
