Senior Exploration Geologist
As a Senior Exploration Geologist at KoBold Metals, you will lead evaluations of potential properties for acquisition, generate exploration targets, and design and oversee field programs from target definition through to resource expansion. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, utilizing KoBold's advanced AI technology to guide field programs and decision-making. Additionally, you will work directly with senior technical advisors and the executive team to build investment cases for acquisitions and field programs.
Key responsibilities include analyzing geoscientific datasets to determine exploration potential, designing and executing field programs ranging from geological mapping to large drilling campaigns, and providing technical guidance to in-country project teams. You will also engage with project stakeholders such as community representatives, regulatory authorities, and joint venture partners, ensuring that all activities adhere to the highest standards in health, safety, environment, and community relations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of ore deposit types, with experience in sediment-hosted stratiform copper or magmatic sulfide deposits considered advantageous. A minimum of 10 years in the mineral exploration industry is required, along with proficiency in software packages like ArcGIS or QGIS. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams, and a demonstrated commitment to health and safety standards are essential.
KoBold Metals offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $170,000 annually, reflecting the candidate's experience and qualifications. As a remote-first workplace, KoBold provides flexibility in work location, with candidates required to be legally authorized to work in specified countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, United Kingdom, Zambia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Finland, Sweden, or Botswana.
