Senior iOS Platform Engineer
The Senior iOS Platform Engineer at Compass will lead the Client Infrastructure team's efforts to enhance the iOS development platform, empowering over 40 iOS engineers to build, deploy, and ship features efficiently. This role involves shaping the future of iOS development within the company, fostering a culture of technical excellence and developer empowerment.
Key responsibilities include driving the technical roadmap for iOS platform infrastructure, architecting and maintaining core capabilities such as build systems, test infrastructure, API frameworks, and shared libraries. The engineer will own the iOS testing strategy, lead platform modernization initiatives like Swift 6 migration and Kotlin Multi-Platform adoption, and optimize the iOS build system infrastructure to enhance developer productivity.
Candidates must have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with at least 7 years of professional iOS software development experience focusing on platform engineering, infrastructure, or tooling. Expert-level proficiency in Swift, deep understanding of iOS SDKs, and significant experience with iOS testing frameworks and build systems like Bazel are required. Proven ability to design complex iOS platform systems and lead multi-quarter platform initiatives is essential.
The base salary for this position ranges from $131,000 to $197,000 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses and restricted stock units.
