Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering
As a leader in Axon's Video Electrical Engineering team, the Senior Manager, Electrical Engineering will oversee a team of skilled engineers and design partners responsible for developing advanced video product electronics. This role is integral to the creation of Axon's Body Worn Cameras, In-Vehicle video systems, and accessory products such as docking stations and connected peripherals. The position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and requires in-person collaboration from Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities include leading and managing a team of Electrical Engineers working on innovative designs, setting team priorities to align with organizational objectives, and managing resources to meet project milestones. The role also involves providing technical guidance and career development opportunities for team members, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to ensure successful product delivery, and ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of electronic designs. Additionally, the Senior Manager will encourage innovative solutions to engineering challenges, identify and mitigate potential technical and resource risks, and regularly report project and team activities to management.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 9 years of experience in electrical engineering, including over 6 years in a technical managerial leadership role. Strong technical competence is required, including a broad understanding of embedded systems, schematic design, layout design, and testing of high-speed processors, data interfaces, power systems, batteries, and wireless communication technologies. The candidate should have proven leadership skills, demonstrated success in cross-disciplinary collaboration, and an understanding of compliance standards such as FCC, CE, and IEC. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
