Counterpart is seeking a (Senior) Production Risk Engineer specializing in Management Liability for the Eastern United States. This role involves collaborating with engineering, design, data, and operations teams to develop and distribute management and professional liability insurance products tailored for small businesses. The company leverages advanced AI and deep insurance expertise to proactively assess, mitigate, and manage risk, helping businesses grow with confidence.
The primary responsibilities include achieving and exceeding underwriting performance and revenue goals by underwriting in accordance with established procedures. The role requires pricing accounts competitively and efficiently, managing quote-related communications thoughtfully, and collaborating with the underwriting team to understand complex account exposures. Additionally, the position involves providing market feedback to improve terms, rates, and guidelines, binding accounts through continuous broker engagement, representing Counterpart at broker meetings and industry events, and contributing to the development of the company's tools and services.
Candidates should have 3-8 years of underwriting experience in management or professional liability insurance. A network of brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients in the relevant insurance space is essential. Expertise in specialty liability products, including rating procedures, policy forms, applications, and coverage endorsements, is required. The role demands the ability to establish long-term, profitable partnerships with brokers, confidence in presenting to stakeholders, a proven track record of exceeding performance targets, enthusiasm for high-velocity environments, and flexibility for travel as needed. A college degree with relevant work experience of 4+ years is also required.
The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 annually. Compensation is determined by factors such as market data, location, internal equity, and experience.
