Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Block is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team dedicated to enhancing the reliability of our platform and critical infrastructure. As a key member of the SRE team, you will focus on building distributed platforms that enable safe and scalable product development, contributing to our mission of economic empowerment.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and extending platforms to improve system reliability, standardizing reliability tools across multiple platforms, and leading the stabilization of high-severity incidents. You will also serve as the primary on-call support for our most critical services, maintaining structured escalation paths and driving platform-wide reliability improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong drive to identify and resolve complex system issues, demonstrated technical initiative and leadership, and familiarity with AI-driven tooling for observability and automation. Experience running production on-call for high-availability systems, strong incident management skills, and fluency with CI/CD pipelines are essential. A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required.
