Chime is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Trust & Safety team in Chicago. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, drive the modernization of our risk architecture, and ensure a secure and seamless experience for our members. As part of a rapidly growing engineering team, you'll contribute to evolving our platforms to meet the expanding financial needs of our users.

Your primary responsibilities will include driving technical design and architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. You will lead and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, balancing ownership of key initiatives with support across broader team efforts. Additionally, you'll build and maintain robust, low-latency APIs and backend services that power our Trust and Safety platforms.

To be successful in this role, you should have over five years of experience developing software in a production environment at scale. Prior experience serving as a technical lead for a team and on complex projects is essential. Proficiency with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks, experience with transactional databases and caching systems, and a deep understanding of architectural patterns for large-scale web applications are required. A commitment to mentoring engineers and fostering team development is also important.

The base salary for this position ranges from $173,000 to $204,000, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and comprehensive benefits.
