KoBold Metals is a pioneering company that integrates artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to revolutionize the discovery of essential energy transition metals such as lithium, copper, nickel, and cobalt.

In this role, you will architect, implement, and maintain decision science libraries utilized in our mineral exploration analyses. Your responsibilities will include building tools to accelerate decision-making, enabling rapid prototyping in Jupyter notebooks, developing experimentation, evaluation, and simulation frameworks, and transforming successful research and development into robust, scalable pipelines. Additionally, you will organize machine learning models and their outputs to ensure repeatability and discoverability.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in decision science with a strong software engineering focus, though most successful candidates will have closer to ten years of experience. A proven track record of building production-quality data processing solutions that deliver business value is essential. Proficiency in machine learning concepts, including statistical, traditional, and deep-learning approaches, as well as expertise in Python and array-based packages like xarray and numpy, is required. Experience with measured scientific data, visualization for domain experts, and MLOps practices for creating robust machine learning systems is also important.

KoBold Metals offers a competitive compensation package, with a U.S. base salary range for this full-time exempt position between $170,000 and $215,000. The company provides a remote work environment, allowing candidates to be located anywhere in the United States or Canada, provided they are legally authorized to work in these countries.

Joining KoBold Metals means becoming part of a dynamic team that is reshaping the future of mineral exploration through cutting-edge technology and innovative approaches. The company fosters a collaborative culture where data scientists, software engineers, and geologists work together to tackle complex scientific challenges.
