As a Senior Software Engineer on Axon's Robotics team, you will play a pivotal role in developing the Android-based software application for Axon's Ground Control Station (GCS). This platform enables operators to interact seamlessly with advanced ground and air robotic systems, directly contributing to the safety and efficiency of law enforcement and military operations. Axon is dedicated to protecting life through innovative technology solutions that address critical public safety challenges.

In this position, you will lead the architecture and design of software features focused on robotic command and control, artificial intelligence integration, video livestreaming, and data management. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire mobile software lifecycle, from initial prototyping to commercialization and ongoing post-launch support. Collaborating closely with product designers and engineers, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, mission-critical applications that meet the complex needs of our users.

The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in developing and deploying Android applications to the Google Play Store. Proficiency in modern architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVI, along with expertise in technologies like Retrofit, Coroutines, OkHttp, Hilt, and Jetpack Compose, is essential. A strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, Server-Sent Events, and WebSockets, is also required. Additionally, experience with unit testing and a track record of mentoring engineers to foster technical growth are highly valued.
