Senior Software Engineer II, Vehicle Intelligence
As a Senior Software Engineer II in Axon's Real Time Operations pillar, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our Vehicle Intelligence and Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) products. Axon is dedicated to protecting life through innovative devices and cloud software solutions, and this position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our mission-driven initiatives.
In this role, you will lead the development and design of new features and initiatives, conduct engineering architecture design reviews, and set high technical standards through code and architecture evaluations. Collaborating closely with product managers and designers, you will create integrated solutions that meet customer needs. Additionally, you will mentor and coach engineers, identify improvements to enhance engineering processes, and build services that maintain high availability and low latency in mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with over 8 years of professional software development experience. Expertise in designing and delivering highly available, scalable cloud-based systems is essential. Proficiency in backend services using languages such as Go, Java, or Python, as well as experience with frontend technologies like React or Angular, is required. Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL data stores, including MySQL, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch, is also necessary. A strong ability to leverage AI agents and tools to enhance productivity and focus on tasks requiring human creativity and judgment is highly valued.
