The Senior Solutions Engineer at LaunchDarkly serves as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise prospects and customers, playing a pivotal role in the company's sales strategy. This position involves collaborating closely with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to land new clients and expand existing accounts. The ideal candidate is curious, excels in active listening, and demonstrates profound technical expertise with a customer-centric focus.

Key responsibilities include driving technical discovery, architecture design, and proof-of-concept implementations throughout the pre-sales lifecycle. The role requires delivering high-impact demonstrations, workshops, and proposals tailored to both C-level and technical stakeholders. Additionally, the Senior Solutions Engineer will cultivate trust and credibility with customers, identify technical champions, and liaise between clients and internal Product and Engineering teams to relay feedback and influence the product roadmap.

Candidates should possess at least 8 years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or systems architecture in customer-facing roles. A strong background in the software development lifecycle, cloud architecture, or DevOps is essential. Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, with expertise in at least one (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), is required. Excellent communication and presentation skills are crucial, along with a demonstrated history of presenting thought leadership to the broader industry. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is also necessary.

The compensation for this role varies based on geographic zones. For Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area, NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle), the target pay range is $214,000 - $295,000. For Zone 2 (Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago), the range is $193,000 - $265,000. For Zone 3 (all other US locations), the range is $182,000 - $251,000. In addition to salary, the compensation package includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits.
