Senior Staff Software Engineer, Analytics & Accounting
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on Ridgeline's Product Technology team, focusing on Portfolio Accounting and Performance Measurement and Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in developing a fast, scalable accounting engine that supports a full range of asset classes and offers global market coverage. Ridgeline is dedicated to transforming the investment management industry by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools, within a dynamic and innovative work environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for contributing domain knowledge, design skills, and technical expertise to a cross-functional team. Your day-to-day activities will include participating in the entire software development process—from requirements gathering and design reviews to deploying production code. You will architect and evolve a cloud-native technology stack on AWS to build scalable and high-performing accounting systems. Additionally, you will develop automation tools to enable the creation of high-quality applications relied upon by asset managers, and mentor product engineers to deliver secure, high-performing enterprise applications.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for AI and experience leveraging AI to accelerate technology projects. You should possess over 12 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of designing and delivering new products, including at least 3 years in a Staff+ leadership role influencing teams and architecture. A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline is required. Experience in building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS, familiarity with high-availability systems, production on-call, and performance monitoring are essential. A strong understanding of automated testing at all levels, the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term architectural thinking, and excellent communication and collaboration skills are also necessary.
Ridgeline offers a competitive compensation package, with a typical starting salary range for this role between $214,500 and $268,000. In select locations, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, the starting salary range is between $236,000 and $295,000. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise.
