The Senior Technical Program Manager at Canva will be instrumental in driving cross-functional programs that enhance Canva's growth and reliability in China and international markets. This role is based in Mainland China with hybrid flexibility, allowing work from home or a local co-working space, and involves occasional travel to collaborate with teams across the Asia-Pacific region and globally. The position is part of the International Supergroup, which aims to make Canva feel like a local product in every market by empowering in-market teams with autonomy while providing them with the necessary tools, systems, and support from central teams.

Key responsibilities include monitoring and tracking delivery status across multiple teams and projects, promoting accountability for sustainable program delivery, and managing open issues and program risks. The role also involves managing dependencies across teams and groups, facilitating effective and transparent decision-making practices, and ensuring consistency in planning, documentation, and core practices to maintain healthy velocity. Additionally, the manager will build partnerships with cross-functional teams to influence decisions, drive alignment and prioritization, and actively collaborate with engineering teams. Specific to the China and international market scope, the role includes orchestrating programs that require market-specific considerations, supporting compliance and data-residency programs affecting China users and services, coordinating local payment and platform integrations, and collaborating with the International engineering team based in China and regional leadership to deliver cross-border initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in an established and complex organization, with domain experience in AI and R&D areas. A deep understanding of Agile product development processes is essential, along with experience working with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver key company initiatives. The candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and be a natural communicator who leads through influence rather than authority. A passion for navigating complexity and tackling ambiguous problems is also important.

Canva offers a range of benefits to support employees' success both inside and outside of work. These include equity packages to share in the company's success, an inclusive parental leave policy supporting all parents and carers, an annual Vibe & Thrive allowance to support wellbeing, social connection, and office setup, and flexible leave options that empower employees to take time to recharge and support personal needs.

Canva fosters a culture of excellence and innovation, encouraging employees to build partnerships with cross-functional teams to influence decisions and drive alignment. The company supports continual improvement rituals to enhance the effectiveness of product development and engineering teams. With a mission to make Canva feel like a local product in every market, the company empowers in-market teams with autonomy while providing them with the necessary tools, systems, and support from central teams, enabling faster movement, smarter building, and global growth with local impact.
