Senior Thermal Aerodynamics Engineer
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Thermal Aerodynamics Engineer to join their Test and Analysis team in Lexington, Massachusetts. This team ensures that emerging products are prepared for the demanding conditions of air, land, sea, and space environments. In this role, the engineer will perform thermal analysis and take ownership of thermal design aspects across hardware development programs. Responsibilities include executing first-order assessments to guide preliminary design architecture, developing detailed analytical models to mature prototype designs, and creating predictions to support hardware testing. The position involves working closely with environmental test engineers to design, instrument, execute, and process data from tests that validate models and predictions.
Candidates should possess a Master's degree or higher in engineering or applied physics with a focus on heat transfer and fluid dynamics, along with at least seven years of experience in thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis roles. Proficiency in thermal finite element analysis tools such as STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm is required. Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for developing analytical models and performing data acquisition and post-processing is also essential. The role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $146,000 to $194,000 annually, with highly competitive equity grants included in most full-time offers.
