Senior Warhead Design & Test Engineer, Maritime
Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Warhead Design & Test Engineer to join their team in Costa Mesa, California. This role focuses on designing and testing advanced warheads and ordnance systems, transitioning them from prototype to production. The position is integral to Anduril's mission of transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through cutting-edge technology.
The engineer will be responsible for designing complex mechanical systems using CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks, creating high-fidelity prototypes for range testing, and managing comprehensive testing processes, including project planning, design of experiments, and safety protocols. Additional duties include capturing and analyzing test data from various tests and assembling and disassembling explosive test articles and precision targets.
Candidates must possess a BS or higher degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline, with 2-10 years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing of naval ordnance or munitions systems. Proficiency in CAD tools, experience with data acquisition and analysis, and the ability to travel up to 25% for testing are required. Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include an active U.S. security clearance, expert-level experience in designing complex mechanical systems specific to ordnance or munitions, experience with munitions testing, prior experience in explosive operations, familiarity with DoD Weapons Safety Boards, and experience in designing and scaling production of mechanical components at volume.
