Site Reliability Engineer (Australia, Remote)
Axon is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team remotely in Australia. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our mission-critical cloud-native services. Collaborating closely with the Site Reliability Engineering division and the broader engineering organization, you will contribute to delivering high-quality solutions that support our mission to protect life through innovative technology.
Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining robust, secure cloud platforms and tools. You will apply site reliability engineering principles to enhance system stability and performance, write clean and efficient code, and troubleshoot issues in distributed cloud-native systems. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineering teams to support service reliability, create and maintain documentation to promote self-service capabilities, and participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure roles. A solid understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux, and experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS are essential. Proficiency with Kubernetes platforms like AKS or EKS, and at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C#, or Java is required. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and Infrastructure as Code concepts is also important. Strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and good communication and collaboration abilities are key. Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain government security clearance are mandatory.
