SMB Account Manager
The SMB Account Manager at Square plays a pivotal role in assisting small and medium-sized business owners to maximize their use of Square's comprehensive suite of products. This position is part of the Account Management team, which focuses on product education, business advice, and introducing new features to help merchants achieve their business goals. Square, a subsidiary of Block, Inc., is dedicated to providing integrated, omnichannel solutions that empower sellers to manage various aspects of their business seamlessly.
In this role, the Account Manager is responsible for growing and retaining a multi-million dollar Gross Payment Volume (GPV) customer base. Key responsibilities include understanding customer needs, cross-selling and upselling products and features, strategically addressing customer concerns, and collaborating with Sales, Support, and Product teams to ensure an optimal customer experience. Additionally, the Account Manager will support peers by specializing in specific products or processes and providing feedback to product managers.
The ideal candidate possesses 2 to 3 years of experience in Sales, Account Management, or a related field, with a proven track record of discovering and closing sales opportunities and building client relationships. Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. A passion for leveraging new technologies to better serve small and medium-sized businesses, an entrepreneurial spirit, and experience with Salesforce are also desirable. A BA/BS degree or relevant experience is required.
