Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer at Beacon Software, your key responsibilities will include deploying into portfolio companies to identify, design, and deliver high-impact technical initiatives. Additionally, you will build AI-powered features and products that drive measurable business growth, architect scalable backend and API services, and develop modern, performant frontends. Collaboration with product and business leaders to translate commercial goals into technical roadmaps and contributing to internal engineering playbooks and best practices are also integral parts of this role.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment. A strong foundation in software engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and deployment, is essential. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, TypeScript, or Ruby is required, along with experience in cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices. Comfort working across diverse architectures, from monoliths to microservices, and familiarity with AI integration, large language models, and data-driven applications are highly valued. The role also demands excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a commercial mindset with curiosity about business models and how software creates enterprise value.
