Software Engineer II - Pear Assessment
The Software Engineer II position at GoGuardian focuses on developing and enhancing the Pear Assessment product, a platform designed to provide real-time, interactive formative assessments for educators. This role involves working within a collaborative engineering team dedicated to improving teaching and learning outcomes through innovative technology solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing and building features that enable real-time formative assessments and classroom engagement experiences. The engineer will develop and maintain high-performance backend services in TypeScript, create intuitive React interfaces for interactive assessments and data visualization, and enhance OpenSearch-based semantic search systems. Additionally, the role involves optimizing data pipelines to deliver low-latency insights and collaborating cross-functionally to translate educational needs into impactful technical solutions.
Candidates should have over four years of professional experience in building and delivering scalable software features. Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or Python is required, along with experience in developing modern React applications with TypeScript. Familiarity with designing and consuming APIs, working knowledge of databases like MongoDB or PostgreSQL, and understanding of caching concepts and performance optimization techniques are also essential. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and modern frontend tooling is preferred.
