Software Engineer, Lending
As a Software Engineer on Chime's Lending team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and scaling backend features that provide members with upfront liquidity for larger, specific needs. This position offers the opportunity to work on products that offer clear, predictable repayment plans, helping members build credit responsibly. Chime is a financial technology company dedicated to empowering its members to achieve financial progress through user-friendly tools and intuitive platforms.
In this role, you will design, develop, test, refactor, and scale backend implementations of new and existing consumer product features. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will work on member-facing mobile applications, designing and building resilient APIs that power key member experiences. Additionally, you will proactively identify opportunities to improve the reliability and scalability of our systems and participate in on-call rotations to address any platform issues.
The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience developing software in a production environment at scale, with proven expertise in Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks. Comfort working across the stack and an eagerness to learn new technologies are essential. Experience designing APIs, working with transactional databases and caching systems, and a strong product mindset with a bias toward experimentation and iteration are also important. Exposure to large-scale architecture patterns and a collaborative spirit with strong communication skills are highly valued.
Chime offers a competitive base salary ranging from $133,000 to $184,000, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Full-time employees are also eligible for bonuses, a competitive equity package, and comprehensive benefits, including a 401k match, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
