Software Engineering Manager
As a Software Engineering Manager at Formlabs, you will lead a team of cross-disciplinary engineers and technical leads across multiple software projects. This role is pivotal in developing core 3D printing algorithms, firmware, 3D rendering, web-based services, and UI/UX, ensuring exceptional user experiences as digital models transition to physical forms.
Your primary responsibilities include managing a team of software engineers, contributing to software architecture decisions for both R&D and production development, and collaborating closely with software and hardware product managers, as well as 3D printing R&D teams, to deliver new algorithms, features, and 3D printers. Additionally, you will be responsible for hiring, growing, and retaining top talent within your team.
The ideal candidate is prepared to collaborate with a wide range of technical disciplines, including Software, Hardware, and Design teams. You should have experience as a manager and technical leader of at least one group of five or more software engineers, be comfortable managing risk and making meaningful decisions for your organization, and possess a desire to grow the skills and fully leverage the talent of the team you manage. A proven track record of managing teams that develop a high volume of new features is essential.
