The Software Test Engineer (SDET) role at Accela focuses on delivering efforts at the Costa Rica center to ensure full regression and performance test coverage for ongoing Accela Civic Platform (SaaS) releases. Additionally, it involves advancing Accela’s maturity in Test Automation, Test-Driven Development, CI/CD, and Performance Engineering.

Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios to ensure the quality and reliability of software products. The role also involves automating API and UI testing for web-based products and application services using Python with Robot Framework and other open-source tools, integrating test cycles with the CI/CD pipeline. Participation in an Agile team, attending daily scrum meetings, as well as planning and grooming sessions, is expected.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any related discipline, along with 3+ years of hands-on experience in quality engineering, functional testing, test automation, and test harness development using open-source tools. A strong understanding of JMeter, Python/Java, SQL, API gateways, performance testing experience, cloud environments (Azure), and performance monitoring tools like Datadog is essential. Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and techniques, including Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, is also required.
