Sr Business Intelligence Engineer
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will design, build, and optimize scalable data models and analytical assets that power reporting and self-service analytics across the organization. This role involves collaborating closely with data platforms and product teams to deliver high-quality, governed, and performant datasets and dashboards, while upholding best practices and standards. Key responsibilities include collaborating with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translating them into functional requirements. The engineer will design, develop, and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Additionally, they will build and optimize Tableau dashboards and KPI frameworks with a focus on performance, usability, governance, and row-level security. Ensuring data consistency and quality in reports by working closely with the data management team is also a critical aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of professional experience in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or data engineering, preferably in healthcare or another data-rich, regulated domain. They should be self-starters capable of working independently in a fast-paced, high-intensity startup environment. Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong hands-on experience with analytics engineering frameworks such as dbt are required. Experience with Tableau (Cloud and Desktop), including dashboard development, row-level security, performance optimization, and basic administration, is essential. Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow and experience working in AWS-based data platforms are also important.
