Sr. Engineering Program Manager
As a Senior Engineering Program Manager at Peloton, you will lead the development of Connected Fitness Products from prototype to launch. Based in our Taipei office, you will report to the US-based Hardware EPM Director within the Product Development team. This role involves close collaboration with Product Management, Industrial Design, Engineering, Software, Quality, and Operations to deliver innovative fitness solutions.
Your primary responsibilities include creating detailed program plans in partnership with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Management, Quality, and Operations. You will manage key supplier relationships, including engineering suppliers, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers. Establishing comprehensive program schedules with identified dependencies and critical paths at each stage is essential. Additionally, you will develop and manage program budgets from prototype through launch, track and update program-level risks, mitigation plans, upcoming milestones, and team priorities, ensuring cross-functional alignment. Serving as the primary contact for all engineering builds and activities during development at our manufacturing sites, including build planning and clear-to-build processes, is also a key aspect of this role.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, action-driven, and intellectually curious, with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related experience. You should have over 8 years of experience in Hardware Program Management within consumer electronics, fitness equipment, appliances, or automotive industries. Experience working with Asia-based suppliers such as ODMs, CMs, and JDMs is crucial. Managing multiple product development cycles for complex hardware systems with cross-functional dependencies is expected. A detailed understanding of the Product Development Process, supply chain, and manufacturing processes is necessary. Strong leadership skills, the ability to influence and inspire team members, and excellent communication skills to translate complex technical issues to a broader audience are essential. Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, experience with program management tools like Jira, Confluence, Smartsheets, and Google Drive, and the ability to build and maintain detailed program schedules are required. Fluency in English and Mandarin, along with a willingness to travel one to two days a week to the Taichung, Taiwan office and as needed for extended trips to suppliers in China, Thailand, and Vietnam, is also necessary.
