As a Staff Application Engineer at Cohere Health, you will join a rapidly growing software engineering team dedicated to developing impactful healthcare technology. In this senior technical leadership position, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality, scalable software systems that power Cohere Health's core platform. Your day-to-day activities will include defining and driving the architecture of large-scale, distributed application systems, ensuring solutions are secure and compliant with industry standards. Additionally, you will write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern frameworks such as Python, TypeScript/React, and Java/Kotlin. Collaborating closely with DevOps and Data teams, you will ensure seamless integration, scalability, and operational readiness of the platform.

The ideal candidate will have over 13 years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a staff, principal, or lead role. Expertise in designing and scaling distributed, cloud-native applications is essential, along with a strong background in modern programming languages like Python, Java, or TypeScript/React. Experience in healthcare technology or other regulated environments is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in mentoring and growing engineering talent, as well as excellent communication skills to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders, are also required.
