Staff Engineer - Trading, Order Generation
As a Staff Software Engineer on Ridgeline's Order Generation team, you will play a pivotal role in developing the Trade Order Management solution, a key component of Ridgeline's innovative cloud platform for investment management. This position offers the opportunity to influence the design and implementation of a foundational product, utilizing modern technologies in a collaborative and creative environment. Ridgeline is dedicated to revolutionizing the investment management industry by building a modern, secure, and user-friendly platform from the ground up.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building robust, scalable components for the Trade Order Management product. Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, you will deliver elegant, high-impact solutions. Your expertise in trading systems will contribute to shaping an innovative platform, and you will leverage AWS cloud services to build secure, high-performance backend infrastructure. Additionally, you will mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and informal coaching, while establishing development best practices and fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence. Utilizing AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, you will enhance productivity and innovation.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in software engineering with a strong track record of designing scalable systems, including at least 3 years working with buy-side order management systems. Proficiency in Java or Kotlin is required, along with a strong foundation in computer science principles. Experience building in AWS environments, particularly with services like Aurora, Lambda, and S3, is preferred. A commitment to automated testing and engineering best practices, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and a willingness to learn about cutting-edge technologies while cultivating expertise in a business domain are essential.
Ridgeline offers a competitive compensation package, with a typical starting salary range of $174,500 to $205,000, and up to $220,000 in select locations.
