Staff Engineer - Trading, Real Time Pricing
Ridgeline is seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Trading team, focusing on developing our Trade Order Management solution. This role involves providing hands-on technical leadership and design expertise to create and scale applications that transform how investment management firms operate. As part of a collaborative and fast-paced environment, you'll work with cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, to deliver high-performance, cloud-native applications.
In this position, you will design scalable applications using AWS and modern backend services to support mission-critical trading workflows. Responsibilities include architecting secure and maintainable systems, leading engineering best practices such as design reviews and CI/CD adoption, and mentoring cross-disciplinary teams to foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence. Collaboration with product, design, and QA teams is essential to deliver features that meet real-world trading needs.
The ideal candidate has over seven years of software engineering experience, including leading large-scale system design and implementation. Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, with a focus on backend systems, is required. A deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, experience with cloud platforms like AWS, and familiarity with modern front-end technologies are also important. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams are essential.
Ridgeline offers a competitive compensation package, with a typical starting salary range of $174,500 to $205,000, and up to $220,000 in select locations.
