Startup Founder
Formlabs is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to join our Product team as a Startup Founder. In this role, you will act as a mini-CEO, rapidly identifying, developing, and scaling new product lines and ventures within Formlabs. We value individuals with a bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and deep ownership over outcomes. Your contributions will span the entire product cycle, from deep research and development to global-scale shipping across hardware, software, materials science, and business functions.
As a Startup Founder at Formlabs, you will define product strategy and vision by identifying unmet user needs and high-potential market gaps. You will own business outcomes by driving profit and loss results, identifying new market opportunities, and scaling existing business units. Building and leading multi-disciplinary teams of talented engineers, operators, and designers will be a key responsibility, along with making crucial, high-stakes decisions that directly impact our core technology and business trajectory. Embracing ambiguity and working at the intersection of complex disciplines such as engineering, sales, manufacturing, and marketing will be essential to get the job done.
The ideal candidate is a tinkerer and/or an ex-co-founder who thrives on complexity and doesn't wait for permission. Proven entrepreneurial experience, particularly in building a business or significant venture, is highly valued. Direct experience in creating multi-disciplinary technology products and understanding the full lifecycle from ideation to scale is essential. A "get it done" mindset, with the hustle to do whatever it takes—whether it's pitching a customer, setting up a supply chain, or debugging a prototype—is crucial. Adaptive leadership skills, including excelling at both hiring and leading teams in a constantly changing, high-standard environment, are also important.
