The Strategic Account Manager role at Block focuses on managing relationships with some of Square's largest sellers in the Food and Beverage sector. This position is part of the Strategic Account Management organization, which aims to establish, retain, and grow Square's most valuable and engaged sellers. Key responsibilities include managing a portfolio of 50 strategic Food & Beverage sellers, identifying opportunities for revenue growth through use-case expansion and cross-selling, and providing customized onboarding experiences. The Strategic Account Manager will act as a consultant and partner to high-value restaurant sellers, identifying technical solutions to meet customer needs and coordinating with cross-functional teams for implementation. Additional duties involve serving as the voice of upmarket sellers to product teams, negotiating pricing for expansion and retention, and conducting quarterly business reviews with stakeholders.

Candidates should have over five years of relevant account management experience, with a proven track record of managing, retaining, and growing a book of business. The role requires consistent over-performance on key sales or customer success metrics, strong discovery skills rooted in genuine curiosity about clients' businesses, and the ability to manage multiple projects involving engineering, product, and finance teams. Experience in contract and pricing negotiations with senior stakeholders, excellent communication skills, and creative problem-solving capabilities are essential. Experience in the restaurant industry or Food & Beverage technology is preferred.
