Anduril Industries is seeking a Structures Engineer to join their Air Dominance and Strike Aerostructures Engineering Team, focusing on the design and analysis of advanced structural components for high-speed air vehicles and missile platforms. This role involves overseeing the full development lifecycle, from conceptual design to prototype manufacturing, ensuring the creation of high-performance, resilient, and scalable mechanical systems suitable for complex and contested environments.

Key responsibilities include utilizing first-principle methods and design tools to develop new aircraft products, leading the development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts and assemblies (both metallic and composite) from preliminary design through prototype manufacturing, and performing complex modeling and finite element analysis at various levels. The engineer will also apply design-for-manufacturing concepts to create cost-effective and easily manufacturable solutions, conduct trade studies to determine optimal solutions for weight, performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to solve complex, open-ended problems with an emphasis on schedule and cost objectives. Additionally, the role involves coordinating work with mechanical systems, systems integration, aerodynamics, manufacturing, project engineering, and other team members, as well as providing onsite engineering support at manufacturing and integration sites.

Candidates must possess a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience, along with over five years of experience in the aerospace or related industry. A strong technical knowledge in core engineering principles, fundamental mechanics of composite materials, design, analysis, testing, and fabrication is essential. The role requires a deep understanding of load paths, design practices, and hand calculations to design robust, structurally efficient assemblies, as well as a proven ability to design high-performance structures and execute their fabrication. Self-direction, results orientation, and the capability to work in a dynamic environment are crucial, along with excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Clearance or higher is also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with clean sheet aircraft configuration, high-temperature materials, thermal gradient structural analysis, and proficiency in Siemens NX. Experience with fast-paced prototype design and manufacture of uncrewed aircraft, high-temperature materials selection, prior work in high-speed programs, hands-on manufacturing experience, and practical aircraft knowledge (such as a pilot's license or A&P certification) are also advantageous.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $129,000 to $193,000 annually, with actual offers varying based on factors such as work experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most full-time offers, forming part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additional benefits for full-time employees include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans at little to no cost, income protection through life and disability insurance, generous time off with a holiday hiatus in December, caregiver and wellness leave, family planning and parenting support, access to free mental health resources 24/7, annual reimbursement for professional development, company-funded commuter benefits based on region, and relocation assistance depending on role eligibility. Retirement savings plans are also available, with options varying by region.
