Supplier Sourcing Engineer, Supply Chain
The Supplier Sourcing Engineer at Anduril Industries plays a pivotal role in developing strategic supply networks and managing the cost of product hardware throughout its lifecycle. This position involves close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure efficient and cost-effective product development and production.
Key responsibilities include selecting suppliers from an approved list, partnering with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development, and conducting activities such as concept scoping, feature trade-offs, cost modeling, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronic designs. The role also involves developing and consolidating manufacturing bills of materials (BOMs), managing capital expenditures during new product introductions, optimizing supply network lead times, assessing BOM risks, ensuring component qualifications, reducing complexity through commonality optimization, leading cost engineering activities, and managing ad-hoc cost issues like tariffs and cost inflation.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and have at least 1 year of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices. Expertise in value or procurement engineering or total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis at the component and product level is required. The role requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time and relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA. Preferred qualifications include a master's or advanced technical degree, deeper experience in design and development of electronics or mechanical devices, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, early supplier engagement, familiarity with high-tech product development in a high-mix, low-volume environment, exposure to fast-paced startup environments, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $129,000 to $171,000, with actual offers varying based on factors such as experience, education, and critical skills.
