Tax Manager
The Tax Manager will be a key member of Audax Group's growing Tax Team, focusing on partnership tax within the alternative investments sector. Audax Group, founded in 1999, is a leading alternative investment manager with approximately $42 billion in assets under management and over 475 employees. The firm operates through three business lines: Audax Private Equity, Audax Private Debt, and Audax Strategic Capital.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving tax workpapers and returns for funds, general partner, and co-investment entities. The role also involves overseeing state risk analysis prepared by CPA firms, assisting with portfolio holding company partnership tax returns, and managing quarterly and annual tax estimate workpapers. Additionally, the Tax Manager will oversee outsourced CPA teams, support investor distributions by identifying tax withholding requirements, and maintain partner information for K-1 reporting.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and have 5-8 years of partnership tax experience, ideally combining Big 4 and industry backgrounds. A CPA designation is required. Proficiency in Excel, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.
The base salary range for this position is $112,500 to $185,000, with potential eligibility for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on performance.
