As a Technical Writer II at Axon, you will be an integral part of the Product Enablement team, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers to develop comprehensive content that enhances customer understanding of our software products. Axon is dedicated to protecting life through innovative devices and cloud software solutions, and your role will be pivotal in ensuring our customers can effectively utilize these technologies.

In this position, you will be responsible for creating and updating release notes, end-user guides, administrator documentation, and user interface strings for Axon's software offerings. Your day-to-day tasks will involve building deep customer empathy, continuously improving documentation based on feedback, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Product Design, Engineering, Customer Support, Training, Marketing, Account Management, and Sales. Additionally, you will perform content analysis, develop documentation plans for new features, and advocate for best practices in technical communications across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in technical writing or a related discipline, with a demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to accelerate content production while maintaining quality. You should possess strong writing skills tailored to diverse audiences, including non-technical end users, IT experts, and business decision-makers. Experience producing user documentation such as installation guides and online help is essential, along with familiarity with both hardware and software products. Proficiency in writing HTML and markdown editors, as well as experience with tools like MadCap Flare, Atlassian JIRA, and Adobe InDesign, is highly desirable.
