As a Technical Writer II at Axon, you will be an integral part of the Product Enablement team, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineering to develop comprehensive documentation that enhances customer understanding of our products and services. Axon is dedicated to protecting life through innovative devices and cloud software solutions, and this role is pivotal in ensuring our customers can effectively utilize our offerings.

In this position, your primary responsibilities will include writing and updating release notes, end-user guides, administrator and developer documentation, and user interface strings for Axon products. You will engage with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Product Design, Engineering, Customer Support, Training, Marketing, Account Management, and Sales to gather information and ensure the accuracy and relevance of the content. Additionally, you will perform content analysis, develop documentation plans for new features and products, and advocate for best practices in technical communications, including the integration of AI workflow enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in technical writing or related disciplines, with a demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to accelerate content production while maintaining quality. You should possess strong skills in writing for diverse audiences, including non-technical end users, IT professionals, and business decision-makers. Experience producing user documentation such as installation guides, configuration guides, and online help is essential. Familiarity with both hardware and software products is preferred, along with proficiency in HTML and markdown editors, and experience with tools like MadCap Flare, Atlassian JIRA, and Adobe InDesign.
