Toxic Tort Associate
Wilson Elser's San Francisco office is seeking a Toxic Tort Associate to join their collaborative team. This role involves representing clients in complex legal challenges related to toxic tort matters, including cases involving talc, silicosis, and asbestos. The firm, established in 1978, is a leading defense litigation law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices in the United States.
The associate will be responsible for drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents, attending court hearings, depositions, and mediations, and managing a litigation caseload from inception to resolution. Effective collaboration with colleagues across departments and offices is essential, as is maintaining clear communication with clients and providing regular status reports.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and be admitted to practice in California. A minimum of two years of toxic tort litigation experience is preferred, particularly in cases involving asbestos, talc, silicosis, diacetyl, or benzene. Strong analytical skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication abilities, are required. Experience with discovery and pretrial motions is necessary, while experience with cross-examinations, court appearances, and trials is advantageous.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 to $210,000, along with discretionary bonuses.
