The Vice President - Senior Debt position at Audax Group is a pivotal role within the Senior Debt investment team, focusing on underwriting and managing a portfolio of senior secured loans, including first lien, unitranche, and occasionally junior debt facilities. Audax Group, founded in 1999, is a leading alternative investment manager with approximately $42 billion in assets under management, operating through three business lines: Audax Private Equity, Audax Private Debt, and Audax Strategic Capital. The Senior Debt team has invested over $30 billion across more than 850 U.S. middle market companies, supporting over 250 private equity sponsors.

In this role, the Vice President will oversee new investment underwriting, guide junior team members, facilitate negotiations on term sheets and credit documents, and monitor the financial performance of portfolio companies. Responsibilities include conducting industry and business due diligence, driving due diligence processes, performing financial analyses, developing financial models, and presenting at portfolio review investment committee and watchlist meetings. The position also involves analyzing incremental investment opportunities, evaluating amendment requests, and making follow-on primary and secondary market investment recommendations.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and have over eight years of experience in investment banking, direct lending, structured credit, or similar fields, with a preference for experience in sponsor-backed direct lending. The role requires proficiency in underwriting lead opportunities, managing a portfolio of senior debt investments, structuring and negotiating legal documentation, and overseeing financial models. Strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously, and effective communication skills are essential.

For New York City, the base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $225,000, with potential for annual discretionary incentive compensation based on performance.
