VP, Engineering
As the Vice President of Engineering at NinjaTrader, you will oversee the development and maintenance of our trading platforms, including Desktop, Web, and Mobile applications, as well as the real-time backend infrastructure that supports them. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will lead a multi-director engineering organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and innovative fintech solutions to our user base of over 2.5 million traders.
Your primary responsibilities will include leading and mentoring a team of engineering directors and managers, establishing and enforcing elevated engineering standards, and driving measurable improvements in deployment frequency and incident trends. You will define and own the multi-year technical roadmap for client platforms and core trading systems, lead platform modernization efforts, and champion AI-driven engineering initiatives to enhance developer productivity and system performance.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading organizations with multiple directors or senior engineering managers. Proven experience in managing both client-facing platforms and backend distributed systems is essential. A strong command of engineering delivery metrics, deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure, and executive-level communication skills are also required. A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is necessary.
Compensation for this role includes a salary range of $275,000 to $325,000 USD, with an annual target bonus of 20%. Additional benefits include a 401(k) plan with a 3.5% company match, generous paid time off, health, vision, and dental coverage, and life and disability insurance fully covered by NinjaTrader. The position is based in Chicago, IL, with hybrid work options available, including in-office work from Tuesday through Thursday and remote work on Mondays and Fridays, along with additional flexible remote days annually.
